Terms and conditions
Please read these terms before booking a massage appointment through We Massage People Not Egos.
1. About We Massage People Not Egos
We Massage People Not Egos is a shared massage brand and website used by independent massage therapists.
Faye and Kasia each operate their own massage practice and remain responsible for the appointments, services and client records relating to their own clients.
When you book an appointment, your agreement for that treatment is with the individual therapist you choose.
By booking an appointment through this website or using the website, you agree to these terms and conditions.
2. Massage services
The treatments available through We Massage People Not Egos may include back, neck and shoulder massage, deep restorative massage, deep rest and reset treatments and other massage services offered by individual therapists.
Services, locations, appointment lengths and availability may vary between therapists.
Massage is intended to support relaxation, ease everyday muscular tension, improve comfort and support general wellbeing.
It is not a replacement for medical advice, diagnosis, physiotherapy, counselling or emergency healthcare.
3. Bookings
All appointments are subject to availability.
Your booking is confirmed once you receive confirmation from the therapist or booking system.
Please make sure the information you provide when booking is accurate and choose the therapist, treatment and location carefully.
You may be asked to complete a consultation form before your first appointment or again if your circumstances have changed.
Please arrive on time for your appointment.
If your therapist offers mobile appointments, you will also need to provide a clean, safe, warm and private space suitable for treatment.
4. Cancellations and rescheduling
We understand that plans change, but late cancellations make it difficult to offer the appointment to somebody else.
Please give at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged up to 100% of the appointment fee.
If you do not attend your appointment and do not contact your therapist, the full appointment fee may be charged.
If you arrive late, your appointment may need to be shortened so the next client's appointment can still begin on time. The full appointment fee may still apply.
A therapist may choose to waive a cancellation fee in exceptional circumstances, but this is at their discretion.
5. Payments
Payment may be required when you book or at the appointment, depending on the therapist and booking method.
Prices are shown in pounds sterling.
Available payment methods may vary between therapists and may include card payment, bank transfer or cash.
Prices may change from time to time, but the price confirmed when you book will apply to that appointment.
If payment fails or an amount remains unpaid, the therapist may decline future bookings until the balance has been settled.
6. Health information and suitability for massage
You are responsible for telling your therapist about relevant health conditions, injuries, allergies, medication, pregnancy, recent surgery or anything else that may affect your treatment.
Please also tell your therapist if your health changes before a future appointment.
Your therapist may adapt, postpone or decline treatment if they believe massage may not be appropriate or safe for you at that time.
They may ask you to seek advice from an appropriate healthcare professional before treatment where there is a safety concern.
Please do not attend if you have a contagious illness, fever, vomiting or diarrhoea, an active contagious skin condition or another condition that could put you or others at risk.
If you are unsure whether massage is appropriate, contact your therapist before booking.
7. During your appointment
We want massage to feel like something being done with you, not to you.
Your comfort, preferences and consent matter throughout the appointment.
Before treatment begins, you and your therapist can agree:
which areas will be worked on
any areas you would prefer to avoid
your preferred pressure
a comfortable treatment position
what you would like from the session
You can ask for more or less pressure, change position, avoid an area, choose quiet or stop the treatment at any point.
Appropriate draping will be used and only the area being treated will be uncovered.
Therapists will not provide treatment outside their training, insurance or professional boundaries.
8. Professional boundaries and conduct
Massage is a professional service and is not sexual in any way.
We have zero tolerance for inappropriate sexual comments, requests or behaviour. If this happens, the appointment will end immediately.
Aggressive, threatening, discriminatory or abusive behaviour will not be tolerated.
A therapist may also decline or stop treatment if you attend under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs or if they otherwise feel that it is unsafe to continue.
Where an appointment ends because of inappropriate behaviour or a serious breach of professional boundaries, the full appointment fee may still be charged.
The therapist may also decline future bookings.
Respect works both ways. You should always expect your therapist to behave professionally, respect your boundaries and listen when you ask for something to change.
9. Aftercare
After massage, you may feel relaxed, tired, mildly tender or more aware of particular areas of your body.
Temporary redness, warmth or mild soreness can sometimes occur, particularly after firmer or more focused work.
Your therapist may offer general aftercare suggestions, but these are not medical advice.
If you experience severe pain, feel unwell or develop symptoms that concern you, seek appropriate medical advice.
10. Mobile appointments
Some therapists may offer mobile appointments by prior agreement.
Where treatment takes place in your home or another location, you are responsible for providing a safe, clean, warm and private space.
There must be enough room for the massage couch and for the therapist to move around it safely.
Please minimise avoidable interruptions during the appointment, including from children, pets or other people in the space.
The therapist may decline or leave an appointment if they feel unsafe or if the environment is not suitable for treatment.
Any travel areas, additional charges or specific requirements will be confirmed by the therapist offering the appointment.
11. Liability
Each therapist is responsible for providing their own massage services with reasonable care and skill.
You are responsible for providing accurate and relevant information about your health and circumstances.
We Massage People Not Egos and its therapists cannot be responsible for problems caused by information that has been withheld or is materially inaccurate, or by circumstances outside their reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
