Good at massage. Less keen on marketing yourself?

We’re building We Massage People Not Egos for independent massage therapists who care deeply about their work, their clients and the experience they create — but don’t necessarily want to spend their lives trying to become content creators.

We’re not building a faceless directory.

We’re building a recognisable collective of therapists who share a human, consent-led approach to massage.

What we stand for

We believe great massage can be:

  • professional without being clinical

  • warm without being overfamiliar

  • skilled without being full of jargon

  • personalised without pretending to “fix” people

  • relaxing without asking clients to perform relaxation

  • clear about boundaries without making the experience feel intimidating

And, importantly:

People before practitioner ego.

What “not egos” means

It doesn’t mean difficult clients.

It means leaving our own ego at the door.

Clients should be able to:

  • ask for more or less pressure

  • change their mind

  • choose quiet

  • avoid an area

  • ask questions

  • pause or stop

  • tell us when something isn’t working

Their body. Their session.

We listen first and personalise from there.

Who we’re looking for

We’d love to hear from independent massage therapists who:

  • are properly qualified and insured

  • care about consent, boundaries and client choice

  • communicate clearly and respectfully

  • avoid exaggerated health claims

  • want clients to feel comfortable being themselves

  • take their work seriously without taking themselves too seriously

You don’t need to work exactly like Faye or Kasia.

In fact, we don’t want a collective of clones.

Your style, experience and personality are part of what makes you valuable.

What we’re building

We Massage People Not Egos is still growing.

Our longer-term aim is to create a trusted way for people to find independent massage therapists who share a clear standard of care and a very human approach.

Over time, that may include:

  • therapist profiles and local discovery

  • shared marketing

  • branded campaigns

  • practitioner resources

  • merchandise and QR-led promotion

  • shared standards around client experience

  • opportunities to collaborate and learn from each other

We’d rather build it properly than build it quickly.

What we’re not

We’re not here to tell you how to massage.

We’re not asking you to give up your business name, personality or independence.

And we’re definitely not interested in creating another polished wellness brand where everyone has to sound the same.

Interested?

If this sounds like your kind of thing, we’d love to hear from you.

Tell us:

  • your name

  • where you’re based

  • your qualifications

  • the kind of massage you offer

  • what matters to you about the way you work

  • why We Massage People Not Egos appeals to you

One last thing

We’re building this carefully.

Being part of the collective should mean something — to therapists and to the people booking with them.

So we’re starting small, listening properly and growing from there.
